What started your health and wellness journey/passion?
Getting breast cancer 31 years ago
What one health, wellness or fitness rule do you live by?
To never diet ever again. And even if I don’t have time to exercise, just to “move” as often as I can.
What is the biggest health and wellness industry misconception that you are constantly myth busting?
Body image and that we must constantly be on a diet. Every diet I have been on in my life, I have lost the weight and then when I get back to normal living, the weight goes back on plus more. I would love to see where I would be now if I had not listened to bad advice and gone on a diet when I was a slender 17 years old.
What are your go to snacks when you’re super busy?
Nuts and berries
Do you routinely supplement? Why and what?
Yes I do. Supplements may vary from time to time depending on the needs of my body but I will always take Vitamin C powder and Magnesium
What is your favourite wellness tip?
Look after your mental health. If your brain is not switched on no amount of good intentions will work. And listen to your body. AND most importantly, if you don’t have gut health, it is difficult for you to maintain good mental health.
What things do you do regularly to reduce stress and stay positive?
Take time out for me. Some time to just reflect and not to have to listen to anybody, just to music.
Who are your wellness heroes?
I like what I hear from Kris Massie from Chi PT.
What is your favourite crystal and why?
My favourite crystals are many (I used to own a crystal shop) but my very favourite is a Labradorite because it lets you know why you are here on this earth at this time
What is your favourite essential oil and why?
Hmm, hard question but lemongrass – uplifting and clean and clear, or rose geranium – uplifting and soothing
Have you got any cool events coming up that you want to tell people about?
Planning the commencement of the next 4 level Tarot class and also excited that Valerie Redman’s Registered Training Organisation will be running her next Transactional Analysis 101 in the Workshop Room on Friday 17 t h April, 5.00 to 9.30 pm and Saturday 18 th April 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
